About Your Cystic Fibrosis Healthcare Consultant and Advocate
CFCOC was founded by Tamika L. Grubbs, RN. Tamika is a registered nurse, army veteran, and Cystic Fibrosis healthcare consultant and advocate with years of experience serving the Cystic Fibrosis community.
She also holds a Bachelor of Science degree in public health education and promotion as well as multiple certifications from the Cystic Fibrosis Foundation and a certificate of health education K-12 with the Florida Department of Education. She has participated in the Veteran Women Igniting the Spirit of Women Entrepreneurship training program and the American Corporate Partners mentoring program.
In addition to her education, Tamika is active in the Cystic Fibrosis community. She regularly participates in Cystic Fibrosis fundraisers and events, and she writes for the Cystic Fibrosis.com. In 2014, as a coordinator her CF care center was awarded the Care Center Award for Outstanding Partnership from the Cystic Fibrosis Foundation.
Prior to founding CFCOC, Tamika managed Cystic Fibrosis Services for Kroger where she helped the company become a national leader in Cystic Fibrosis. However, her interest in Cystic Fibrosis began years earlier in her role as the Adult Cystic Fibrosis Nurse Coordinator for Central Florida Pulmonary Group, P.A. in Orlando, Florida. It was during this time that she discovered the gap in patient care, healthcare services, and communication that she would later fill through CFCOC.
With her experience in Cystic Fibrosis healthcare and business, combined with her experience as a Human Resource Manager (Lieutenant) and Logistic Manager (Captain) for the U.S. Army (where she was awarded both the Army Achievement Medal and the Army Commendation Medal), Tamika launched the country’s only Cystic Fibrosis healthcare advocacy and consultancy and was selected as one of only 16 finalists in the country for the 2017 Veterans Business Battle established by Entrepreneurs’ Organization-Houston and Rice University’s Veterans in Business Association.
Tamika is passionate about finding solutions to the life-threatening issues experienced by Cystic Fibrosis patients every day. To that end, she is an excellent communicator, an experienced coordinator, and an expert connector. Tamika is relentless in seeking solutions and is dedicated to helping alleviate frustrations for both patients suffering from respiratory conditions and the clinicians, facilities, and businesses that serve them.
“Cystic Fribrosis and other respiratory conditions present unique challenges to patients, families, healthcare providers, and the businesses that serve them. Everyone does a great job individually, but the complex healthcare system often makes communication challenging. I’ve spent 100% of my nursing career working with Cystic Fibrosis. I understand the disease, and I understand both the patient and medical challenges of respiratory conditions. I focus on connecting people and services and believe that we can work together to take the frustration out of meeting everyone’s needs.”
